Review: Glossier Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream
I’ll be honest, I picked this up because of the packaging. I am so drawn to the aluminum tube!
But regardless, I always love to try any product that Glossier releases. I’m a loyal fan, yet I’ll provide my honest opinion on this.
Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream: Glossier’s newest launch in skincare. I was really hesitant to purchase this at first because eye creams are always a miss for me. After moving to NYC, and shipping is no longer an issue, I couldn’t resist and picked up Bubblewrap at the Flagship store!
Why do you need eye cream? If you didn’t know, the skin around your eyes is the thinnest and most delicate skin on your face. For me, an eye cream isn’t THAT necessary, but extra care to the eye area is. Which means, you can use a thicker moisturizer or layer on another moisturizer around the eye area.
Introducing Glossier’s Bubblewrap Eye AND Lip plumping cream! I think this is the first of its duo that I’ve ever seen. Usually one or the other might be too greasy or it might not be moisturizing enough. Bubblewrap is the sweet spot in between being plumping and moisturizing enough to be used for both the eyes and lips.
Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire Microcristalline, Dimethicone, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isopropyl Palmitate, Ethylhexyl Stearate, Propanediol, Undecane, Sodium Chloride, Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Squalane, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Portulaca Pilosa Extract, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Swertia Chirata Extract, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, 1,2-Hexanediol, Tridecane, Propylene Carbonate, Lecithin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyglyceryl-4 Diisostearate/Polyhydroxystearate/Sebacate, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Isostearate, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Sorbitan Isostearate, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Sucrose Cocoate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Tocopherol
It’s formulated with hyaluronic acid, squalane, and avocado oil, so you know you’ll be getting an intense hydration.
The bottle has a nice plastic pump to it, so you’ll get a small drop every time.
How to use: Pump a tiny amount onto your ring finger and gently dab onto your under eye area and around it
I personally think this cream works better as an eye cream than a lip cream. It’s not moisturizing enough for my lips, but it’s the perfect amount of hydrating for my under eyes.
You can see how light and airy it is under my eyes! If you look closely, you can see a thin sheen of the product. It feels so lightweight, it’s not greasy, and it absorbs quite fast too.
The texture feels like a light and airy cream. If you’ve used both the Priming Moisturizer in Rich or the regular one, the texture is an in between of the two. As for the scent, I couldn’t smell anything noticeable.
Back to the packaging that I love oh so much, it’s so dense and sturdy. It really feels like a luxurious product in your hands. I love the aluminum tube because it feels cool (temp wise) in your hands, which is so satisfying for me.
The product is priced at $26 for 0.74 oz/22 mL. This is one of the more cheaper eye creams that I’ve seen on the market, given that eye creams are positioned as a more luxurious “treat yourself” type product sometimes. I don’t know if this will a be repurchase for me, but it does exactly what it says it does.
Overall, this eye + lip plumping cream gets the job done. It’s not amazing, but it does smooth out and hydrate my under eyes a lot. I’d much prefer it as an eye cream, but it does a decent job at moisturizing my lips too!
