Review: d'Alba piedmont Peptide No-Sebum Balancing Toner

Review: d'Alba piedmont Peptide No-Sebum Balancing Toner

If you didn’t know yet, Sokoglam recently launched their Clean Beauty Collection! Clean Beauty is defined by beauty and skincare products that don’t contain artificial fragrance, mineral oil, parabens, sulfates and artificial coloring.

Among this clean beauty collection is a wonderful toner that I’m about to tell you all about: d'Alba Piedmont’s Peptide No-Sebum Balancing Toner!

If you don’t know what a toner is, head on over to my toners blog post to learn why it’s so amazing for your skin.

Not only is this toner Sokoglam Clean Beauty certified, it contains some of my favorite ingredients. First, hyaluronic acid. I rave about this acid so much because it’s what makes my skin so plump and dewy.
Another ingredient to note is niacinamide. Niacinamide helps reduce the enlarging of pores, fine lines, dull skin, and uneven skin.
A favorite that I found surprising is that it contains Betaine Salicylate (BHA)! BHA is an active chemical that gently exfoliates and removes sebum to prevent your skin from breaking out. This toner is perfect for anyone who has sensitive and oily skin! Given that it’s free of man made fragrances and alcohol, you don’t have to worry about it irritating your skin.

Ingredients: PEARL EXTRACT,  GLYCERIN, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, WATER, GLYCERETH-26, PROPANEDIOL, NIACINAMIDE, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, WATER, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, BIOSACCHARIDE GUM-1, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, GLYCERIN, WATER, GLYCERYL ACRYLATE/ACRYLIC ACID COPOLYMER, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, BETAINE, WATER, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, SODIUM HYALURONATE, SODIUM HYALURONATE CROSSPOLYMER, HYDROLYZED HYALURONIC ACID, HYALURONIC ACID, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, HYDROLYZED SODIUM HYALURONATE, GLYCERIN, TRIDECETH-10, WATER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, ACETYL HEXAPEPTIDE-8, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, TUBER MAGNATUM EXTRACT, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, COCOS NUCIFERA (COCONUT) WATER, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, GLYCERIN, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, ALLANTOIN, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, ADENOSINE, DISODIUM EDTA, LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) OIL, BETAINE SALICYLATE

This is one of the most luxurious bottles of toner I’ve ever had. I’m seriously loving that gold cap.
This bottle contains 5.07 fl. oz./150 ml of toner for $35 on sokoglam.com. This would approximately be $7 per ounce. Given the ingredients, this toner is totally worth it.

How to use: after cleansing, pour a small amount of toner into your hands or on a cotton pad and pat gently into your skin. If you’re using a cotton pad, sweep it in upward, gentle strokes.

As for the scent, the toner has a very light citrusy and woodsy scent. It’s nothing overwhelming and disappears almost immediately. It’s also clear and has the same consistency as water.

The toner has a pH level of 5.6, which means it will hydrate and balance out your face after cleansing. Normally, your skin has a pH level of 5.5, but when you wash your face with a cleanser, it might disrupt your pH balance, so this toner will reset everything again.

After using this toner for about a week and a half, I noticed a significant different on the texture of my skin. My face is prone is getting little bumps whenever I product excess oil and this toner has really helped preventing those bumps from forming again! As for brightening, I haven’t seen any noticeable difference in a week just yet, but this product hasn’t broken me out at all or has caused any irritating side effects.

Final thoughts: I recommend this to anyone with oil and/or very sensitive skin. Given that it’s part of their clean beauty collection, I know that this product will do wonders for people with oily and sensitive skin. (Just like me!)
You can purchase the toner on Sokoglam here.

I was gifted the toner from Sokoglam, but all opinions are my own. Thank you for reading & take care!  – xoxo, Annie.
