Review: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask [Berry]
Brace yourself, people. Winter is coming. Dry skin will happen faster than you think, and the worst of it all? Chapped lips.
I always fall victim to having chapped lips EVERY winter. It’s inevitable, honestly. All year round I make sure to carry lip balm with me and whenever winter strikes, I somehow always manage to finish that said lip balm.
Thanks to Laneige, I think I’ve found my long lost solution.
What’s a sleeping mask? Sleeping masks are like regular masks, except you don’t wash them off after 15-20 minutes. You leave them on overnight and wash it off in the morning. Lip sleeping masks play the same role. It’s a thick cream-like mask specifically formulated for your lips to hydrate and soften it.
Look at how cute that tiny spatula is! I’m OBSESSED.
How to use: Apply a pea sized amount to your lips, spread evenly, go to bed and let it work it’s magic!
It contains tons of fruit extract such as, cranberry, strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry! It smells so good. It also has hyaluronic acid to help seal and lock in moisture to give you hydrated lips all night long.
This product does also contain fragrance and alcohol, so if you are allergic or if it irritates you, please rinse immediately!

First impressions: it feels almost like a thick vaseline, but not as oily. This was the amount I used on my lips. It smells great! A very light and fresh mixed berry scent. Once applied to my lips, it felt kind of like a sticky lip balm. It’s definitely much heavier than a lip balm and looked almost as shiny as lip gloss. The smell faded quickly and there was practically no taste.
Top: Lips before.
Middle: Upon application.
Bottom: Next morning after product was wiped off.
Honestly, would you LOOK at the difference. If you look carefully, my lips at the top were a bit dried out, you can see the white flakes and dead skin. After removing it the next day, my lips felt and looked so much better!! No dead skin flaking in sight! The fine lines on my lips are also less prominent. My lips feel so soft and hydrated, I cannot wait to use this as it gets colder.
From reading other reviews, I’ve also seen people with extremely chapped lips go as far as even using this as regular lip balm or even using it under liquid lipsticks.
Final thoughts: I am in love with this lip mask. It will really save my lips this upcoming season. It’s rare that I see a difference immediately upon the first use, but I’m happy to say that I saw it with this one! I will be buying the vanilla scented one once I finish this.
Where to purchase: My friend bought this for me when he visited South Korea, but you can find it at Sephora online and in store for $20.
