The Dynamic Duo – A Review of Glossier's LASH SLICK ft. BOY BROW
Finally, the review you've all (mostly me) been waiting for.
If you've read my blog a couple of days ago, I've predicted that Glossier was going to release a mascara! I had no idea what name it was going to be, I just knew they had trademarks for "Lash Slick" and "Boy Lash" so it had to be one of those, right?
Nevertheless, LASH SLICK is finally in my hands.
Firstly, look at this packaging! Glossier does it again with the Glossier (millennial) pink. I love the embossed G at the top, a very cute, very Glossier touch.
The tube contains 0.29 oz/8.5 g. and it's priced at $16.00 USD. The brush claims to coat and slick lashes from the root without clumping them. The formula contains fibers to lengthen them, enhancing the look of your natural lashes. It's also water resistant!
As of right now, Glossier has only released it in Black. Hopefully, they'll release it in other colors in the future. I'd love to see a clear one or a lash primer too.
Lash Slick Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Acrylates Copolymer, Alcohol, Cera Alba/Beeswax/Cire d'abeille, PEG-15 Glyceryl Stearate, Cera Carnauba/Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/Cire de Carnauba, Butylene Glycol, Kaolin, Pullulan, Behenyl Alcohol, Bentonite, Rayon, Alcohol Denat., Dimethicone, Stearic Acid, Sucrose Distearate, VP/VA Copolymer, Nylon-6, Aminomethyl Propanol, Glycerin, Tocopherol, Silica, Panthenol, Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Phenoxyethanol. May Contain/Peut Contenir (±): CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77266 (Black 2).
In this look, I paired Lash Slick with Boy Brow in Black. I know they compliment each other SO well! I hope Glossier releases a "Mascara & Brow" duo to purchase one day. I feel like these two products would be such a great makeup staple.
Boy Brow was one of my first products I purchased from Glossier. It's true, it really is a cult favorite. I'm already on my second Boy Brow, nearing my third. I also have gifted this product to others, that's how much I want other people to experience how great Boy Brow is. It's priced at $16.00 USD.
Some Glossier-esque Boy Brow action

Now onto the best part!
Lash Slick First Impressions:
There's no significant scent, nothing overpowering! It smells like a generic makeup "product".
The brush: AMAZING. I love that it's so slim and tapered. The bristles are short, which is great for me because I have super short lashes and the bristles really help me grab the lashes from the root and elongates them.
What I will say is that, if you're looking for a mascara that curls your lashes, this one might not be for you. It does a great job at making your lashes look fuller and longer, but it doesn't hold any curling power.
Already after the first coat there is a significant difference. I have short, straight, thin lashes. This is amazing! I feel like for the first time, I finally notice my lashes for once.
Before Lash Slick & Boy Brow (no makeup or primer whatsoever):
What you're seeing on the left eye is eczema! Currently having a tough battle with it due to allergies and the summer heat.
After immediate application of Lash Slick & Boy Brow (taken in bathroom lighting):
I tend to do two coats of Boy Brow because I really love the messy, fluffy brow look it gives me.
After 6 hours (taken in bedroom lighting):
After 12 hours (taken in bedroom lighting):
I can't even begin to explain how blown away I am. It didn't budge once. OR FLAKE. OR SMEAR! I will 100% be repurchasing this. Glossier has truly done it again. Mascara has constantly been a miss for me because either it's irritating my eyes or it's rubbing off due to the oils on my face. Tarte's "Light, Camera, Lashes" mascara worked for me years ago, but the price didn't justify it enough for me to repurchase. I quit using mascara since high school; Glossier has now given me a reason to use mascara again.
