6 Holy Grail Products of 2016!

Hello everyone! Happy 2017 and I hope everyone is having a great first week of school so far!
If you're a first-time reader, hello! New year, new blog! For those that have read my blog via blogspot, I have now moved to my own domain; and my blog will be active for good.

I hope everyone had a great 2016! Although 2016 wasn't the year for me, it was a good year for my skin. I updated to a new routine and found some great holy grail products! The products listed below are products that I have either purchased more than once, or will be purchasing again once I'm finished.

My 6 Holy Grail products!
The Face Shop: Natural Sun Eco - Photogenic Sun Blur
Glossier: Priming Moisturizer
Dr. G: A-Clear Body Spot Mist
Glossier: Mint Balm Dotcom
Tony Moly: Egg Pore - Tightening Cooling Pack
Garnier: Micellar Cleansing Water - Waterproof

These have been my go-to products throughout all of 2016. They haven't failed me, so they'll surely be here to stay in 2017.

Glossier's primer is my very first makeup primer because I've always been hesitant to try out primers due to my sensitive skin. I'm really glad I made the choice to purchase this primer! Nothing in their ingredients have irritated my skin and I love the way my makeup lays on it.

Instructions: After cleansing, massage dollops of the cream into your face using upward strokes – up and out! Apply where needed to prime skin for makeup and/or life.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Tridecyl Stearate, Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Stearic Acid, Propanediol, Palmitic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Phenyl Trimethicone, Hyaluronic Acid, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Glycerin, Betaine, Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Tea) Extract, Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos) Extract, Boswellia Serrata Extract, Honey Extract, Tetrapeptide-14, Tropaeolum Majus Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyacrylamide, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate Phospholipids, Beeswax, Ceteareth-20, Laureth-7, Citric Acid, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Cetyl Palmitate, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Butylene Glycol, Aminomethyl Propanol, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract

The product absorbs into my skin very quickly and doesn't leave any greasy residue. It's very lightweight and plus, there's no smell! I absolutely love Glossier and everything the brand stands for. They're also cruelty free. If you're looking for a lightweight primer and/or have sensitive skin, this primer is the one for you.

Now after primer, if I'm too lazy for BB cream, I usually opt for a skin tint. My favorite one by far is the photogenic sun blur.

Instructions: Apply onto face, neck, arms and legs where sun protection needed areas.

Ingredients: Unfortunately, I cannot for the life of me find a typed out ingredient list anywhere. Luckily, blogger Delicate Desire posted a photo of the outer packaging which contains the ingredients here

I found this in The Face Shop store near me. It's part of there Kakao Friends line. How can you resist that adorable packaging? I see myself reaching for this sunblock often because it has a slight beige tint to it that blurs any imperfections and uneven skin tone; it also has SPF 50+ which is a huge plus for me.

Another Glossier favorite of mine are their flavored balms. Specifically, their mint flavored one.

This balm is PERFECT to apply before putting on lipsticks. Especially, liquid lipsticks. The menthol in the balm gives my lips a nice, natural plump before I apply any color. It also keeps my lips moisturized since liquid lipsticks do dry matte, it can be drying on the lips.

Instructions: Use on lips, on cuticles, on elbows, on your friend...anywhere that needs some love.

Ingredients: Petrolatum, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Beeswax, Lanolin, Flavor, Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline, Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, Menthol, Sodium Saccharin

Now if you have more than just acne on your face, I think I have the solution for you. My skin is quite acne prone and unfortunately, the acne isn't just on my face. Occasionally, I'll have acne on my chest and back (it can also be used on your butt and thighs as well). This product has really kept the body acne at bay. Dr. G's Body Spot Mist is something perfect if any of the problems above apply to you.
I love that this spray works great for my sensitive skin because salicylic acid does irritate it. This product claims to use natural salicylic acid, which is derived from the wintergreen plant.

Instructions: Spray over blemishes on the back and chest 1-2 times, and gently pat to promote skin absorption.

Ingredients: (Unfortunately, once again, I cannot find their ingredient list online). Their main ingredients are niacinamide, wintergreen leaf extract, tea tree leaf oil, and salicylic acid

Because of my picky skin, there has only been two makeup removers that I tolerate. The Face Shop: Herb Day - Cleansing Tissue and this wonderful bottle of micellar water.

I remember seeing this all over Instagram as countless beauty bloggers were reviewing/trying the micellar water by Bioderma. I was wary of trying it because Instagram products for me are a hit or miss. But I'm so glad I tried it. This cleansing water gently removes my makeup without irritating my skin at all. It contains no oils, no alcohol, and no fragrances. Seeing the absences of those 3 are music to my ears.  This cleansing water is also great for cleaning your skin after a long day to remove any dirt or grime.

Instructions: Shake well. Saturate a cotton pad. Gently wipe pad over skin until completely clean from makeup and impurities. Use daily, AM/PM.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isohexadecane, Potassium Phosphate, Sodium Chloride, Hexylene Glycol, Dipotassium Phosphate, Disodium Edta, Decyl Glucoside, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide

I want to show you how well this micellar water works so, this is a swatch of UD: Lounge - eyeshadow, Mac: Kinda Sexy - Lipstick and Cherry lip liner, KVD: Lolita - liquid lipstick and Trooper - tattoo liner

The swatches after one wipe with a cotton sheet (left) and swatches completely removed (right).

There's a slight stain from the red lip liner but it's nothing noticeable. It's amazing how well this works considering it has no harsh chemicals in it!

Besides sheet masks, there is only one mask that I throughly enjoy and gives me great results. This tightening mask has worked so well for me, I am on my third one.

Instructions: Apply an adequate amount on larger pores, wait 10-15 minutes and wash with lukewarm water. (Use once or twice a week).

Ingredients: Purified water, Kaolin, Butylene Glycol, Bentonate, Titanium Dioxide, Acrylate Copolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Maize Starch, Vinegar, Eggshell Powder, Sea Silt, Glacial Milk, Perfluoro, Tromethamine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cellulose Gum, Perfluorodecaline, Potassium Alginate, Pentafluoropropane, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Perfume

This mask dries like paper mâché and does the job of tightening your pores while pushing out the impurities in your pores. I love this mask because it has given me great results. My pores are significantly cleaner after each use. I use this mask once or twice a month if I notice my pores need some deep cleansing.

My favorite/my holy grail products (ft. my cat's tail). As a person with sensitive skin, I'm really glad there's products out there that don't irritate skin or are specifically formulated for sensitive skin. If I could rank these products, I would but I honestly love them all so much because they haven't bothered my skin once. I hope you found this post informative and hopefully some of these will be your holy grail products too!
