Memebox Unboxing and Review of the Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask

Hello everyone, I am back with another review. I saw this very popular clay mask circulating and I decided to try it myself! I ordered the Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask and the cat headband from Memebox.com.

The two products came a small brown box, like any regular box, but when opened it contained tons of little pink confetti (how cute)! The package came within a week, which is a huge plus for me considering how tons of Korean beauty products are shipped from Korea which can take 3-4 weeks.

The packing for each was simple and with the confetti, each came free of flaws or dents.

On to the clay mask! When you open the container, this has a thick plastic covering that separates the scooper from the product. It also has two little wedges at the top as well to keep the scooper in place.

The plastic covering was quite hard for me to take off because so much of the product was stuck onto it.

The clay has the consistency of thick glue. Almost like tack glue. As for smell, it was nothing too potent, just smells like a face product; and when applied it has almost no smell at all.

For application, I saw that the spoon didn't do too much for me. It was kind of useless to be honest. I used the spoon to scoop up product into my fingers (make sure they're clean!) and applied it that way.

I used about two quarters of product on each cheek and spread until the middle part of my face is covered, then about two dime sizes for product on my forehead and chin. (I may have used more than suggested but you'll know when you see how much can cover your face). Also on another note, I suggest you work fast with this product because once it's open, it starts to foam in the container as well, causing wasted product :(

Now the fun part! WAITING. I recommend you find something to get all of your hair back because once this part starts foaming it does get really messy.

This is my face 2 minutes after application.

After 5 minutes!

This was taken after 10 minutes. As you can see it's already gotten to parts of my hair. Be careful and try not to let it get into your nose! It got in my mine and I had to mouth breathe for the remainder of the time.

Left: Taken after 15 minutes. At this point, you can literally feel it getting in to every single pore. You'll start to hear the bubbles popping. It's an interesting experience.
Right: Taken after 20 minutes. You can start to hear the bubbles "slowing down" or less of it. The packaging doesn't say to keep it on for however long, but like all masks I've used, the average is usually around 15-20 minutes.

When washing, I recommend lightly massaging your face for an even deeper cleansing effect. Make sure to wash with lukewarm water.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This is a mask I do not recommend using every week or 2. This is more of a once a month mask, depending on how sensitive your skin is. I'd consider it more of a detoxifying mask because it is really really strong. This clay mask honestly does what it says. Highly recommend as a mask you should at least try once if you already haven't jumped on the Korean skincare bandwagon.
